How ratings work
Every company rating on Top Markets is the average of verified user star ratings, on a scale of one to five. The score updates automatically as new reviews are published or as reviews are removed for policy breaches.
Review volume matters
Company pages show the total number of published reviews next to the average score. A four-star average from three reviews is weaker evidence than the same average from three hundred reviews, so both numbers should be read together.
Rating breakdown
Each company page shows how many one, two, three, four and five-star reviews it has received, so readers can see whether opinion is consistent or polarised.
What is excluded from a score
- Spam and promotional posts
- Fund-recovery, chargeback and hacking-service solicitations
- Reviews containing contact details
- Duplicate submissions from the same author
Recalculation
When a review is removed, the average, the review count and the rating breakdown are recalculated so the published score always reflects only the reviews currently visible.
